Chandrayan 1 Deployed 11 payloads
- Five were designed and developed in India
- Three by European Space Agency
- Two were from the United States
- One from Bulgaria.
- The ESA's three payloads were the
- Imaging x-ray spectrometer (C1XS)
- The smart infrared spectrometer (SIR-2)
- Sub kiloelectronvolt (keV) atom reflecting analyzer (SARA).
The US payloads were
- The 6.5kg mini synthetic aperture radar (MiniSAR)
- The moon mineralogy mapper (M3).
The Bulgarian payload
- was the radiation dose monitor (RADOM).
The five Indian payloads were
- The terrain mapping camera (TMC),
- The hyper spectral imager (HySI)
- The lunar laser ranging instrument (LLRI)
- The high energy x-ray spectrometer (HEX)
- The moon impact probe (MIP).
This mission is terminated abruptly after repeated attempts to restore communication link with the spacecraft by the space agency's telemetry, tracking and command network (Istrac) failed.
